    Description / Table of Contents: Reaction of the 1:1 Addition Compound of Antimony(V) Chloride and Water with Oxalic or Squaric AcidThe 1:1 addition compound of antimony(V) chloride and water reacts with oxalic acid to octachloro-oxalato-0,0′-diantimony(V) (I). I also results by reaction with squaric acid caused by a redox-reaction of antimony(V) chloride with the acid. The structure of I was determined by X-ray analysis. I crystallizes triclin in the space group P1 and the lattice constants a = 677.3, b = 704.5, c = 1581.2 pm and α = 82.08, α = 84.09, γ = 82.61°.
    Notes: Das 1:1-Addukt aus Antimon(V)-chlorid und Wasser reagiert mit Oxalsäure zum Oktachloro-oxalato-0,0′-diantimon(V) (I). I entsteht als Folge einer Redoxreaktion bei der Umsetzung mit Quadratsäure. Die Struktur von I, das triklin in der Raumgruppe P1 mit den Gitterkonstanten a = 677,3, b = 704,5, c = 1581,2 pm; α = 82,08, β = 84,09 und γ = 82,61° kristallisiert, wurde ermittelt.

    Description / Table of Contents: dh-μ-Carboxilato-e-μ-hydroxo-f-μ-oxo-bis[trichloroantimonies(V)] Structure and Spectroscopic InvestigationsThe title compounds can be prepared by reaction of SbCl5 · H2O and RCOOH (R = CF3, CCl3, CHCl2, CH2Cl, CH3, CH3CH2, (CH3)2CH, H) or by reaction of H5O2+SbCl6- and RCO2SbCl4 in good yields. 1H-NMR investigations proove that there is a rapid exchange between the components in the reaction mixture. The vibrational spectra are discussed in view of the CO2 vibrations and hydrogen bonding. The crystal and molecular structure of dh-μ-Trichloroacetato-e-μ-hydroxo-f-μ-oxo-bis[trichloroantimony(V)] is determined by X-ray analysis.
    Notes: Die Titelverbindungen lassen sich in hohen Ausbeuten aus SbCl5 · H2O und RCOOH (R = CF3, CCl3, CHCl2, CH2Cl, CH3, CH3CH2, (CH3)2CH, H) oder aus H5O2+SbCl6- und RCO2SbCl4 darstellen. 1H-NMR-spektroskopische Untersuchungen zeigen, daß im Reaktionsgemisch alle Komponenten einem raschen Austausch unterliegen. Die Schwingungsspektren werden bezüglich der CO2-Schwingungen und H-Brückenbindungen auf der Grundlage der mittels Röntgenstrahlen ermittelten Struktur des dh-μ-Trichloracetato-e-μ-hydroxo-f-μ-oxo-bis[trichloroantimon(V)] diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: Reaction of Antimony(V) Chloride with Ethanediol-1,2,1-Methoxiethanol, and Bis-(methoxi) Ethane-1,2 respectivelyAntimony(V) chloride reacts with 1-methoxiethanol (2) and bis(methoxi)ethane-1,2 (3) resp. to the 1:1 addition compounds 8 and 12 resp. Both adducts decompose easily as well as ethanediol-1,2 (1) and antimony(V) chloride to yield the cyclic tetrachlorostibolanates(V) 4, 9, 10, and 13 resp. with different substituents and varied electric charge in the ring systems. The vibrational spectra are discussed relating to the OH, SbO, and SbCl vibrations in view of the charge of the five ring systems.
    Notes: Antimon(V)-chlorid reagiert mit 1-Methoxiethanol (2) bzw. Bis(methoxi)-ethan-1,2 (3) zu 1:1-Additionsverbindungen 8 bzw. 12. Diese zerfallen leicht und bilden, ebenso wie Ethandiol-1,2 (1) und Antimon(V)-chlorid, unter Cyclisierung die unterschiedlich substituierten Tetrachlorostibolanate(V) 4, 9, 10 bzw. 13 mit verschiedenen Ladungen der Ringsysteme. Die Schwingungsspektren werden bezüglich der OH-, SbO- und SbCl-Schwingungen in Verbindung mit der Ladung der Fünfringsysteme diskutiert.
