Notes: Summary We report about an extremely rare case of malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) of the renal capsule. The tumor is composed of fibroblast-like cells arranged in a storiform pattern and histiocyte-like cells with multinucleated giant cells, both showing no iron reaction. Characteristic of the histiocytic quality of the tumor are numerous PAS-positive intracytoplasmic droplets which can be identified as erythrophagosomes only under the electron microscope. Emphasis is put on the preoperative differential diagnosis of the tumor from renal cell carcinoma as well as on its histogenesis and prognosis.

Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung An 8 Bastardhunden wurden ausgedehnte oropharyngeale Weichteildefekte durch mikrochirurgisch transplantierte, kontramesenterial eröffnete Dünndarmsegmente gedeckt.
Notes: Summary In eight mongrel dogs large defects in the cheek, mandible, floor of the mouth, and the tongue were covered with microsurgicatty transplanted bowel segments opened along the antimesenteric border. After transplantation our clinical, histological, histochemical, and scanner-electronoptic findings show for up to 1 year an increasing functional adaptation of the intestinal lining with flattening and widening of the villi, reduction of the mucous production, persisting softness, and invulnerability when under stress mechanically. Free bowel grafts serve as an adequate oral lining.
