Description / Table of Contents:
Einflüsse auf Metall-Isolator-ÜbergängeDrei Fragen wurden untersucht: 1. Die optimale Form der elektronischen Zustandsdichten für einen thermisch induzierten Metall-Isolator-Übergang in bezug auf die geometrische Verzerrung bei einem thermisch angeregten Übergang zwischen ihnen. 2. Die Abhängigkeit der Breite des Valenzbandes von der Kationenart und der Temperatur des Metall-Mott-Hubbard-Isolator-Übergangs in der Reihe der Selten-Erd-Verbindungen SENiO3 (SE = Selten-Erd). 3. Elektronische Gründe für die Abnahme der Jahn-Teller-Verzerrung in Mn-Verbindungen wie La1-xSrxMnO3 beim Isolator-Metall-Übergang mit zunehmendem x, im Gegensatz zu Cu-Verbindungen wie La2-xSrxCuO4.
Notes:
Three problems are studied. (i) The optimal shape of the electronic densities of states of metal and gapped insulator related by a geometrical distortion, for a temperature induced transition between them. (ii) The dependence of valence band width on cation identity and the temperature of the metal Mott-Hubbard insulator transition in the series RENiO3 (RE = Rare Earth). (iii) Electronic insights into the loss of a Jahn-Teller distortion at Mn during the insulator-metal transition in La1-xSrxMnO3 as x increases but not at Cu for La2-xSrxCuO4.
