Notes:
13C NMR chemical shifts of 69 substituted methanes (general formula R1R2R3R4C, where the substituents were H, C6H5, Cl, OH, OR, imidazol-1-yl, pyrazol-1-yl, 1,2,4-triazol-1-yl, 1,2,4-triazol-4-yl, benzimidazol-1-yl, indazol-1-yl, indazol-2-yl, benzotriazol-1-yl and benzotriazol-2-yl) are reported. The effects of the various N-substituents on the 13C chemical shifts of the heterocyclic nuclei are reported. The chemical shifts of the methane carbon atom are discussed using an interactive model. Some 1H-13C coupling constants have been measured.
