Conclusions 1. Oxidation of the surface of iron-aluminum alloy at an oxygen pressure (PO2) 〈 10-7 torr leads to formation of a thin aluminum oxide film with high protective properties. 2. Oxidation of the alloy surface at (PO2) 〈 10-7 torr leads to formation of a ferric oxide film, underlain by a layer of aluminum oxide.
