Notes: Conclusions 1. Cladding of high-strength steel with type 08KhN2GMTA deposited metal aids in increasing the resistance to failure of plate metal under repeated static biaxial bending in a 3% sodium chloride solution. 2. With an amplitude of operating stresses of 70% of the yield strength of the high-strength steel the cladding layer at first experiences plastic deformation, which leads to the formation of residual stresses and a change in the degree of asymmetry of the subsequent load cycles of the external layers in a favorable direction. 3. The appearance in the cladding layer of residual compressive stresses and the decrease on the sample surface of the maximum tensile stresses aids in increasing the resistance to the origin and initial growth of a corrosion-fatigue crack.

Notes: Abstract Intravenous injection of a reacting dose of horse serum (2 ml/kg) into sensitized rabbits and dogs was followed by lowering of the blood pressure in the main arteries and by slowing of the blood flow, disturbance of the laminar pattern of flow, aggregation of the blood cells, and blood stasis in the terminal segments of the pial vessels. The arterioles and venules were dilated. After injection of a smaller reacting dose of serum (1 ml/kg) into rabbits, elevation of the blood pressure in the main arteries, acceleration of the blood flow in the pial vessels, and spasm of the arterioles and venules were recorded initially, followed by a fall of blood pressure, dilatation of the arterioles and venules, and the development of the microcirculatory disturbances described above.

Notes: Abstract Changes in the microcirculation in the liver during anaphylactic shock were studied in experiments on rats and dogs. After injection of the reacting dose of horse serum the systemic blood pressure rose on the average by 20 mm Hg, spasm of the sinusoids and hepatic venules was observed, and the blood flow in them was accelerated. During the subsequent fall of the arterial pressure to 60–40 mm Hg congestion of the blood vessels, slowing of the blood flow, intravascular aggregation of the blood cells, and hemorrhages together with ischemic disturbances were observed in the liver. Restoration of the systemic arterial pressure and microcirculation took place parallel, but the normal microcirculation in the liver was not restored under these circumstances.
