Abstract The authors administered sulpiride in 14 acute stuporose patients (2 depressives and 12 schizophrenics). The initial dosage was 100–200 mg by a single intramuscular injection and as soon as oral administration became possible, it was replaced by a single daily dose (per os) of about 10 mg or over per kg of body weight given in the morning. In schizophrenics stupor disappeared within 2 to 10 days and in depressives in 10 and 14 days respectively.
