Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Eine schnelle Methode zur Trennung und Bestimmung von Uran(VI) wird beschrieben.
Notes: Summary A rapid method for the separation and determination of uranium(VI) is described. The separation of uranium (0.09–0.35 mg/ml) from various other metals is carried out on DEAE anion-exchange paper with ann-butanol-acetic acid-water system (1∶1∶1,v/v), and the determination completed by the ring oven method.

Description / Table of Contents: Summary To permit also the investigation of thermo-labile substances by the ring-furnace method, it has been suggested that the usual “temperature barrier” be substituted by an “adsorption barrier”. A sharply developed ring-shaped zone of an adsorption agent is produced on filter paper with the aid of the ring furnace. The substances to be concentrated are washed into this zone by means of a solvent without employing the ring furnace itself.

Notes: Summary The versatility of adsorption barrier technique in the ring oven method, proposed by Weisz and Abe, was demonstrated by the investigation of the adsorption of acid dyes by magnesium and aluminium hydroxides. Of the hydroxides tested as adsorbents, beryllium hydroxide was found to be useful for this purpose. A rapid procedure for separating small amounts of binary dye mixtures without employing the ring furnace was described using magnesium and aluminium hydroxides as adsorption barrier zones.
