Conclusions 1. An experimental study has been carried out of the effects of gas flow rate, size and density of catalyst and heat-transfer-agent particles, and specific loading of the apparatus with respect to heat-transfer agent, on the concentration of settling-out particles in a fluidized bed. 2. It is shown that the experimental values of the concentration of settling heat-transfer agent particles in the fluidized bed agree well with values calculated using a modification of Stokes' equation.
