Abstract:
Notes:
Abstract This communication describes the electronic design for improved electrometry and temperature control of ion-sensitive electrodes. Some features are: the use of a square wave pulsed metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) to replace the conventional chopped electrometer preamplifier unit; a solid-state-powered, MOSFET-controlled, reference voltage source substituting for the conventional ‘bucking’ voltage; new d.c. complementary stabilized power supplies, and differential amplifying units, combine to make possible many intriguing advances. The design affords a marked improvement in stability, sensitivity, size and cost. Critical commentaries will be welcomed.
