Notes: Summary The diagnostics of benign stenosis of the papilla is based on the preoperative endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and preoperative cholangiography and debimetry with diagnostic dilatation of the papilla. The high rate of positive results achieved with these difficult procedures necessitate their use. The therapy of reversible stenosis consists of the eradication of the responsible inflammatory focus (cholecystolithiasis and choledocholithiasis). Irreversible stenoses of the papilla are without exception successfully treated with sphincterotomy or papillotomy.

Notes: Summary The therapy of irradiation sequelae in the intestinal tract is still problematic. Within the period from 1967–1984 285 patients have been treated for late radiation injuries of the intestine. Our experiences are demonstrated and discussed with reference to the literature. Specific topics are: pathogenesis, clinical problems and aspects of conservative and operative treatment.

Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung In korrosionsanatomischen Untersuchungen an menschlichen Lebern wurde geprüft, welche arterio-arteriellen Anastomosen zwischen den Aa. phrenicae inferiores und ästen der A. hepatica propria bestehen.
Notes: Summary A corrosion — cast anatomical study was performed on human livers. At first arterio-arterial anastomoses between the inferior phrenic arteries and branches of the main hepatic artery were investigated. Secondly, arterial communications between the right and left hepatic artery are described. 1. The anatomical-functional study of phrenico-hepatic anatomoses gives new detailed information on the arterial blood supply of the liver out of the phrenic arteries. These collaterals are a consistent finding. By far the largest part of the phrenicohepatic anastomoses is derived from the right inferior phrenic artery. The superior and posterior segments receive most of the anastomoses. In about 10 % of our cases we succeeded in filling almost the whole arterial system of the liver by injecting the inferior phrenic arteries. 2. There are three anastomotic pathways from the right hepatic artery to the left: the so-called portal anastomoses (hilar anstomoses), translobar vessels, and the capsular arteries.

Notes: Abstract The crystal and electronic structure of solidC 76 has been studied using transmission electron microscopy and electron energy-loss spectroscopy in transmission. C76 forms a close packed structure with an average facecentred cubic symmetry. From valence band and core electron excitations information on the dielectric function and the unoccupied density of states has been obtained.
