Es wurde versucht, analog zu früheren Untersuchungen1,2,3), 1.2-Dibutoxy-äthin durch katalytische Abspaltung von zwei Moll. Alkohol aus Glyoxal-tetra-n-butyl-acetal darzustellen. An Stelle des Äthins wurde als Hauptprodukt Butoxy-essigsäure-butylester isoliert. Durch Behandlung von Glyoxal-tetraäthyl-acetal und Glyoxal-tetra-n-butyl-acetal mit Phosphorpentachlorid wurden 1.2-Dichlor-1.2-diäthoxy- bzw. 1.2-Dichlor-1.2-di-n-butoxy-äthan erhalten, die durch Abspaltung von einem Mol. Halogenwasserstoff in 1-Chlor-1.2-di-äthoxy- bzw. 1-Chlor-1.2-di-n-butoxy-äthen übergeführt werden konnten. Durch Chlor-Anlagerung an 1-Chlor-1.2-di-n-butoxy-äthen und nochmalige Halogenwasserstoff-Abspaltung entstand 1.2-Dichlor-1.2-di-n-butoxy-äthen, dessen Überführung in 1.2-Dibutoxy-äthin durch Abspaltung von Chlor nicht gelang.
