Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary Adsorption and desorption phenomena can be simulated by using the Monte Carlo method. The following four cases were examined. 1. ALangmuir surface is placed under a constant concentration of adsorbate. 2. ALangmuir surface is placed in a system which contains a definite number of adsorbate molecules. 3. TwoLangmuir surfaces coexist in a system which contains a definite number of adsorbate molecules. 4. ALangmuir surface comprising blind holes is placed under a constant concentration of adsorbate. Neither adsorption nor desorption takes place on any site in a hole so long as the site situated at the entrance of the hole is occupied by an adsorbate molecule.
