(C6H6)n-Hydrocarbons. Synthesis of Hexacyclic (C6H6)3-Derivatives by a Multistep and Stereospecific Eintopf-ReactionAt 180°C hexacyclo[9.3.2.24,7.02,9.03,8010,12]octadeca-13,15,17-triene-5,6-carbonate (3) is formed from cyclooctatetraene (1) and vinylene carbonate (2) in 50% yield. It is shown, that pentacyclo[9.3.2.02,903,8010,12]hexadeca-4,6,13,15-tetraene (11) is the precursor of 3, the configuration of 3 is established as 4a ⇄ 4b. The mechanism of formation of 3 can be described as selective interception of the cyclooctatetraene dimer 11 by the dienophil This selectivity is caused by the equilibrium position n-cycle ⇄ (n + 1)-cycle in 11, in cyclooctatetraene, and in the other cyclooctatetraene dimers and by the reactivity of the cyclohexadiene moiety. The generality of this type of reactions is discussed.
Notes:
Aus Cyclooctatetraen (1) und Vinylencarbonat (2) entsteht durch Umsetzung bei 180°C Hexacyclo-[9.3.2.24,7.02,9.03,8.010,12]octadeca-13,15,17-trien-5,6-carbonat (3) in 50 proz. Ausbeute.
