Notes: Summary It is difficult to repair large abdominal wall defects. Thus, such defects have been managed by many methods. In this paper, a one-stage repair of an exceptionally large defect of the abdominal wall is described: this resulted from an en bloc excision of a recurrent squamous cell carcinoma. Multiple flaps — a rectus abdominis myocutaneous flap, tensor fascia lata flap and gluteal thigh flap — were successfully used to close the defect.
