    Notes: We report the observation of a broad photoluminescence line at 0.75 eV in CdTe grown by molecular-beam epitaxy at both high- and low-substrate temperatures. This line is in excellent agreement with the E2 line observed by deep-level transient spectroscopy by previous workers. The origin of both of these lines is probably a deep defect or impurity level native to CdTe.

    Notes: Abstract The quasi-conforming element of the curved beam and shallow curved beam is given in this paper. Numerical examples illustrate that the quasi-conforming elements of the curved beam and shallow curved beam which is used to approximate the curved beam have better accuracy than the straight beam element. The curved beam element constructed by displacement method can not satisfy rigid body motion condition and the very fine grids have to be used in order to satisfy rigid body motion condition approximately. In this paper it is proved that the straight beam element and the quasi-conforming element of the curved beam and shallow curved beam, when element size is reduced infinitely, have convergence rate with the same order O(l2) and when regular elements are used l is the element length.

    Notes: An effective arbitrary quadrilateral thin plate bending element with a quasi-conforming, QCQ element, is presented in this paper. The elements pass the patch test with constant strain and the patch test with linear strains approximately. When the element degenerates to a rectangle the patch test with linear strains is passed. The calculation of the element stiffness matrix is simple without numerical integration. The numerical examples show that the QCQ element has a higher accuracy and a faster convergence rate.
