This study of rigid poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) dry blend fusion proceeds via scanning electron microscope (SEM) examination of material in a sigma mixing bowl fitted torque rheometer. A mathematical model is developed and tested. During the course of the study, degradation behavior was observed some time before the conventional t2 or the end point of thermal stability. A suitable model for torque changes during degradation was not developed.
