Notes: Abstract The excitation function of the reaction7Li(d, α)5He has been measured between 0.6 and 2.0 MeV in steps of 50 keV. The two resonances at 0.75 and 1.00 MeV corresponding to the levels at 17.28 and 17.48 of the compound nucleus9Be were resolved. Angular distribution measurements were performed at 14 different energies mainly near the 1.00 MeV resonance. From the analysis of the data the 17.28 MeV level seems to be a positive parity state (3/2+ → 7/2+) whilst a negative parity (7/2− or 9/2−) is indicated for the 17.48 MeV level. This is contrary to the order of parities as given in the literature.

Notes: Abstract Absolute excitation functions and angular distributions have been measured for the reactions9Be(d, p0),9Be(d, p1),9Be(d, t0),9Be(d, α0) and9Be(d, α1) at energies between 0.6 and 2.7 MeV. Attempts to fit some of the data with DWBA calculations are discussed.

Notes: Abstract The second excited state of8Be has been studied by analysis of the coincidence spectra of the reaction10B(d, α)2α forE d =1.0-2.0 MeV. The excitation energy was found to be 12.0±0.4 MeV, and the reduced width 0.85±0.12 MeV. Differential crosssections of the (d, α 2)-reaction were deduced.

Notes: Abstract The interactions of deuterons with7Li, in which two α-particles and a neutron are produced in the final state are studied atE d =1.2 MeV. The dual parameter α-α coincidence spectrum was analyzed with a search program. The results indicate two excited states of5He: One at excitation energy 2.9±0.1 MeV and with a reduced width of γ2=1.1±0.4 MeV, and the other at 4.8±0.4 MeV, with γ2=0.9±0.4 MeV. No contributions of sequential decay through the 4+ state in8Be or direct three body decay was observed.

Notes: Abstract Angular distributions of the α0-group and the α1-group were measured at 6 energies between 0.5 and 1.0 MeV and the coefficients of the Legendre polinomials have been calculated. Also given are relative cross section curves for the two α-groups between 0.5 and 2.0 MeV. The possibility of explaining the α0-excitation curve by assuming only a few broad compound state resonances is discussed.

Notes: Abstract The absolute differential cross section for the elastic scattering of deuterons by beryllium has been investigated for incident energies from 1.0 to 2.2 MeV. An excitation curve measured at 90 ° (lab) showed no sharp resonances. The ratio of the differential cross section to that predicted by Rutherford's formula was found to increase gradually with energy. Angular distributions from 40 ° to 160 ° were measured in 200 keV steps from 1.0 to 2.2 MeV and optical model analysis of these data were made. Good fits were obtained with a volume-absorption potential with a real well depth in the region of 20 MeV.

Notes: Abstract The excitation curve for the elastic scattering of deuterons from10B in the energy range from 1.0 to 2.0 MeV has been measured atθ L =135°. Strong indications for compound nucleus resonances in12C at bombarding energies of approximately 1.0 and 1.9 MeV were observed. Angular distributions from 80 to 175° were determined in 200 keV steps from 1.0 to 2.0 MeV. Optical model analysis were made both for volume absorption and surface absorption potentials. Reasonable fits were obtained at energies up to 1.6 MeV with one set of parameters in both cases, whilst for the higher energies strong deviations were found with the same parameters.

Notes: Abstract Excitation functions were measured from 0.7 to 2.2 MeV for the α0 -, α1-, α2- and α3-groups at an angle ofθ L=90°. Two broad maxima were found in all four cases, suggesting the existance of resonances in the13C-compound nucleus. A problem, however, arises, as the first maximum appears at a bombarding energy of 1.15 MeV for the α0- and α1-groups, whilst it is shifted to 1.35 MeV in the excitation curves for the α2- and α3-groups. The second maximum appears at 1.85 MeV in all curves. Angular distributions were measured at 7 energies between 1.0 and 2.2 MeV for the α0- and α2-transitions. The coefficients of the first four Legendre polinomials, describing these distributions, are given.

Notes: Abstract Absolute differential cross sections for the elastic scattering of deuterons by7Li have been determined in the energy range of 1.0 to 2.6 MeV. Two excitation curves measured at laboratory angles of 90° and 160° vary smoothly with energy. At higher energies an extremely strong enhancement of the cross section relative to the Rutherford value was observed at large angles. It was, however, possible to find realistic optical potentials that describe these distributions fairly well over the whole energy region. For two of these potentials good fits could be obtained with DWBA calculations on the7Li (d, p 0)-reaction, one of them yielding a spectroscopic factor in close agreement with shell model predictions.
