Description / Table of Contents: On the Anomal Magnetically Behaviour of Diethylphosphino Methylpyridine-(2) Complexes of 3d IonsDiethylphosphino methylpyridine-(2) forms 1,2-complexes with nickel(II) and cobalt(II). In these complexes depending on the nature of anionic ligands which are present in addition, the central atoms have the coordination numbers 4, 5 or 6.“Ni(Et2PMP)2Cl2” and “Ni(Et2PMP)2Br” are magnetically anomal. They are inter-allogones, probably containing five-coordinate nickel(II) species of the low-spin and the high-spin type. The cross-over between high-spin and low-spin types of five-coordinate nickel(II) complexes, observed by Sacconi at the donor atom set N2P2Cl, has been verified. With five-coordinate cobalt(II) complexes this cross-over was observed at the same donor atom set.Et2PMP forms a diamagnetic, octahedral 1, 3-complex with iron(II) and a tetrahedral 1,2-complex with zinc(II).
