Notes: Abstract A dipole band with regular energy spacings has been identified in the nucleus137Nd built on aI=33/2 state atE x =5.60 MeV. The Doppler shift attenuation method analysis of a backed-target experiment allowed to extract the lifetimes of the band levels, which are of the order of 1 W. u., The resulting large B(M1) values, together with the high aligned angular momentum suggest a five-quasiparticle configuration (involving twoh 11/2 protons and twoh 11/2 neutrons).

Notes: Abstract The previously unknown nucleus118Cs has been identified through γ-γ and γ-recoil coincidences using the GASP γ-spectrometer and Recoil Mass Spectrometer. The level scheme constructed on the base of triple γ coincidences shows a collective structure based on the π−1g9/2⊗νh11/2 configuration.

Notes: Abstract An in-beamγ-ray study performed with the114Cd(30Si,p 3n) reaction has established the structure of theN=79 nucleus140Pm. States up toI=(20)ħ and 5.5 MeV excitation energy have been recognized above the 5.95 m isomeric state which we identify, from the GT decay to140Nd, as the 8− member of the (πd 5 2/−1 vh 11 2/−1 ) multiplet, changing the present 7− assignment. The low energy part of the level scheme is discussed in terms of the coupling of the valence holes in respect to theZ=64,N=82 shell closure. A new 8+ isomeric state witht 1/2=1 −0.5 +1 ns has been observed, having most likely a (πh 11/2 vh 11/2 -1 )8 configuration.

Notes: Abstract A rotational band with 15 transitions has been observed in142Eu in an experiment with the GASP Ge detector array by the110Pd(37Cl,5n) reaction. The average energy spacing between the neighbouring transitions is 60 keV, which is similar to the energy spacings in the superdeformed bands in the mass 140 region. The band has a constant dynamic moment of inertia as suggested by Cranked Shell Model calculations.

Notes: Abstract Theg-factors of the 2 1 + and 4 1 + states in198,200,202Hg were simultaneously measured by means of the transient-field perturbed angular correlation method in Coulomb excitation using multi-isotopic targets and thin polarized Gd foils as ferromagnetic host. Theg(2 1 + ) andg(4 1 + ) were found identical within errors in198, 200Hg, while in200Hg lowerg-factor values have been determined. The experimentalg-factors were compared with the predictions of the pairing-plus-quadrupole, dynamical deformation and interacting boson models.

Notes: Abstract Theg-factor of the 7+ state in100Rh withT 1/2=140(5) ns and of the 6− state in104Rh withT 1/2=47(3)ns has been measured by the time-differential perturbedγ-ray angular distribution method (TDPAD). The obtained values are +0.67(2) and +0.33(1) respectively. The two nuclei were populated with reactions induced by7Li on96,100Mo at a bombarding energy of 30 MeV. Shell model calculations using effective single particle moments show that the 7+ state in100Rh has mostly a πg 9/2 ⊗ vd 5/2 configuration, while the main component of the 6− state in104Rh is the πg 9/2 ⊗ vh 11/2.
