Summary Two patients with acute lymphocytic leukemia are described in whom G- and R-banding analysis revealed in bone marrow cells a translocation t (4; 11) (q21; q23). The clinical data are compared to the other four cases with t (4; 11) reported so far in the literature. The anomaly seems to be characteristic for ALL. In addition it appears to be associated with a very high number of circumlating blasts and other poor prognostic factors.
