Conclusions 1. Structural materials (high-strength steel, alloys D16T and VT6) have anisotropic strength characteristics in both their original state and after preliminary cyclic loading. The steel and alloy D16T have higher strength properties in the axial direction, while alloy VT6 has higher strength properties in the radial direction. 2. The effect of preliminary block cyclic loading on the strength and ductility characteristics of the materials in biaxial tension is negligible. Here, the following tendencies are seen with regard to mechanical property changes: the strength and ductility of the steel decrease, while the strength and ductility of alloys D16T and VT6 increase. 3. The yielding and fracture of the steel and alloy VT6 in biaxial tension are described satisfactorily by condition (5). The Saint-Venant condition, with a correction for anisotropy, can be used as the yield and fracture criterion for alloy D16T.
