Notes:
Summary Autoradiographic studies following after implantation of foreign bodies (rubber and plastics) showed different patterns of distribution labelling in the region of implantation when either slide- or globularshaped implants were used. In the case of slide-shaped implants, the largest density of labelling was found at the strongest curved part of the implant capsula. With globular implants the distribution of the labelled cells around the capsule did not show any differences. It is suggested that mechanical factors are responsible for the stronger proliferation in this region.
