    Description / Table of Contents: Summary The author demonstrates in some examples that chrome haematoxylin staining according to theGomori method does not tinge any group of substances clearly determined until now. Thus it seems to be unappropriate to use the expressionsGomori-substance,Gomori-positive, orGomori-negative as, in line with the usual terminilogy, such denominations ordinarily express a histo-chemical valuation.
    Abstract: Résumé L'auteur démontre dans quelques exemples que la coloration avec de la hématoxyline oxyline chromique selon la méthode deGomori ne teint aucuns groupes de substances déterminées clairement jusqu'ici. Ainsi il ne semble juste d'user les expressions substances deGomori, Gomori-positif ouGomori-négatif parce que, d'après la terminologie usuelle, une telle dénomination exprime ordinairement un attachement de valeurs histochimiques.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Es wird an Hand einiger Beispiele darauf hingewiesen, daß die Färbung mit Chromhämatoxylin nachGomori keine bis jetzt eindeutige Stoffgruppe tingiert. Somit erscheint es unangebracht, vonGomori-Substanz,Gomori-positiv oder-negativ zu sprechen, da nach der üblichen Terminologie eine solche Bezeichnung eine histochemische Wertung auszudrücken pflegt.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung 1. Es lassen sich an Hand von 19 eigenen und 39 Fällen der Literatur von Massenblutungen in Hypophysenadenome klinisch 3 Gruppen abgrenzen, die bei gleichem anatomischen Befund eine akute, subakute oder chronische Verlaufsform zeigen. Die klinischen Besonderheiten werden dargestellt. 2. Neben den in der Literatur angegebenen Ursachen für das Zustandekommen der Massenblutungen wird eine angiomatöse Entartung der Tumorgefäße beschrieben. Möglicherweise kommen Verkalkungsprozesse in Adenomen ebenfalls als Ursache in Frage. 3. Es wird auf die Bedeutung einer hormonellen Substitutionstherapie hingewiesen. Im akuten Stadium ist die sofortige Operation mit Substitution die Methode der Wahl. 4. In differentialdiagnostischer Hinsicht können nicht nur Adenome, sondern auch andere raumfordernde Prozesse, z. B. Sarkome, Ependymome, eine ursächliche Bedeutung haben.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary 1. Guinea-pigs were treated with the ganglion blocker Pendiomid (Ciba 9295) through three weeks. The pharmacological effect of Pendiomid consists in an intermission of the pathways of stimulation in the sympathetic and parasympathetic portion of the autonomic nervous system. 2. Determination of blood sugar and double charges according toStaub-Traugott show during this time a dysregulation of the carbohydrate metabolism. 3. The histological examination of the islets ofLangerhans reveals a distinct change in the relation between the A and B cells in favor af the A cells. 4. The portion of glycogen in the liver has considerably decreased in the histological picture. The cortex of the suprarenal glands seems to be enlarged. 5. The change in the relation between the A and B cells after blocking the vegetative stimulation is interpreted as an influence of the alphacytotrophic factor of the hypophysis.
    Abstract: Résumé 1. On a traité des cobayes avec la drogue ganlioplégique Pendiomid (Ciba 9295) pendant trois semaines. L'effet pharmacologique du Pendiomid consiste en l'interruption des voies de stimulation dans la part sympathique et parasympathique du système nerveux autonome. 2. La détermination de la glycémie et les doubles charges selonStaub-Traugott montrent, pendant ce temps, une dysrégulation du métabolisme des carbohydrates. 3. L'examen histologique des îlots deLangerhans montre un changement distinct du rapport entre les cellules A et les cellules B, les cellules A étant augmentées. 4. La teneur glycogénique du foie est considérablement augmentée dans l'image histologique. L'écorce des glandes surrénales est, en apparence, élargie. 5. Le changement du rapport entre les cellules A et les cellules B, après le blocage de la stimulation végétative est interprété comme une influence du facteur alphacytotrophe de l'hypophyse.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung 1. Meerschweinchen erhielten bis zu 3 Wochen das ganglienblockierende Mittel Pendiomid (Ciba 9295). Der pharmakologische Effekt des Pendiomids besteht in einer Unterbrechung der Erregungsleitung im sympathischen wie parasympathischen Anteil des autonomen Nervensystems. 2. Blutzuckerbestimmungen und Doppelbelastungen nachStaub-Traugott zeigen in dieser Zeit eine Dysregulation des Kohlenhydratstoffwechsels. 3. Die histologische Untersuchung derLangerhansschen Inseln stellt eine deutliche Verschiebung der A-B-Zellrelation zugunsten der A-Zellen fest. 4. Der Glykogengehalt der Leber ist im histologischen Bild sehr stark herabgesetzt. Die Rinde der Nebenniere erscheint verbreitert. 5. Die Verschiebung der A-B-Zellenrelation bei Blockierung der vegetativen Stimulation wird als Einfluß des alphazytotrophen Faktors der Hypophyse gedeutet.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Es wird gezeigt, daß die Beachtung der Vaskularisation in der Differentialdiagnostik der Hypophysenadenome herangezogen werden kann. Reichliche Vaskularisierung spricht für den sogenannten Mischtyp, wenn eindeutig chromophile Adenome ausgeschlossen werden können. Bei echten chromophoben Adenomen sind die Zellrasen des Parenchymgewebes wenig vaskularisiert.
