    Description / Table of Contents: Summary The preparation of a new primary substance for the standardization of acid volumetric solutions is described. The reagent may be used immediately after it has been sucked dry; it is sublimable, non-hygroscopic, easily soluble in water. A mixed indicator consisting of bromcresol green and methyl red is used for the titration of the reagent with acid and vice versa. Theoretical values were obtained in the determination of the normality of various mineral acids.
    Abstract: Résumé On décrit la préparation d'un nouvel étalon fondamental pour l'établissement d'une liqueur titrée acide. On peut utiliser le réactif aussitôt après essorage; il est sublimable, non hygroscopique et facilement soluble dans l'eau. Pour le titrage du réactif par l'acide et réciproquement, on utilise un indicateur mixte, se composant de vert de bromocrésol et de rouge de méthyle. On obtient les valeurs théoriques en déterminant la normalité de divers acides minéraux.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Herstellung einer neuen Urtitersubstanz für die Einstellung von Säuremaßlösungen wird beschrieben. Das Reagens kann sofort nach Trockensaugen verwendet werden; es ist sublimierbar, nicht hygroskopisch und in Wasser leicht löslich. Für die Titration des Reagens mit Säure und umgekehrt wird ein Mischindikator, bestehend aus Bromkresolgrün und Methylrot, verwendet. Bei Bestimmung der Normalität verschiedener Mineralsäuren werden theoretische Werte erhalten.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary The ammonium salt of glycinedithiocarbamic acid has been prepared for the first time and a report is given of the reactions of this compound with cations at three PH values. The reactions of bismuth and copper are applicable for the colorimetric and spectrophotometric determination of these elements. By means of suitably chosen complexing agents, bismuth can be determined in the presence of large amounts of copper and lead. Addition possibilities for using this reagent are given. A report on these will appear later.
    Abstract: Résumé On a préparé pour la première fois le sel ammonium de l'acide glycin-edithiocarbaminique et l'on a décrit les réactions de ce composé avec les cations pour trois valeurs de PH On peut appliquer les réactions des éléments bismuth et cuivre à leur dosage colorimétrique et spectrophotométrique. En choisissant un agent de complexation approprié on peut doser le bismuth à côté de très grandes quantités de plomb et de cuivre. Il y a d'autres possibilités d'applications de ce réactif, dont il sera mentionné en temps utile.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Das Ammoniumsalz der Glycindithiocarbaminsäure wurde erstmals dargestellt und die Reaktionen dieser Verbindung mit Kationen bei drei PH-Werten beschrieben. Die Reaktionen der Elemente Wismut und Kupfer sind für die kolorimetrische und spektrophotometrische Bestimmung dieser Elemente anwendbar. Durch Wahl geeigneter Komplexbildner kann Wismut neben sehr großen Mengen Blei und Kupfer bestimmt werden. Weitere Verwendungsmöglichkeiten dieses Reagens sind gegeben. Darüber wird zu gegebener Zeit berichtet werden.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary TheR f - values of 27 metal chlorides were determined by means of the carrier agent tributyl phosphate (TBP)-methanol (2 ∶ 1). Before use, the TBP was equilibrated with various strengths of hydrochloric acid. Through selection of the appropriate acid concentration numerous separations were accomplished with the aid of the given illustration. The partition coefficients of iron-, cobalt- and copper chloride between hydrochloric acid of a given molarity and TBP equilibrated with hydrochloric acid of like strength were determined. A direct relation between the partition coefficieuts and theR f - value of the metal chloride was found. It is advantageous to make a paper-chromatographic analysis prior to separating a salt mixture.
    Abstract: Résumé On a recherché les valeurs duR f de 27 chlorures métalliques en utilisant comme éluant le mélange phosphate de tributyle (TBP)-méthanol (2 ∶ 1). On étalonne le TBP avant son emploi avec de l'acide chlorhydrique de force variable. En choisissant la concentration convenable de l'acide on peut effectuer de nombreuses séparations à l'aide de la figure communiquée. On a déterminé les coefficients de partage des chlorures de fer, cobalt et cuivre entre un acide chlorhydrique de molarité déterminée et le TBP étalonné avec l'acide de la même force. On a établi une dépendance directe entre le coefficient de partage et la valeur duR f du chlorure métallique. Il est avantageux d'effectuer une analyse chromatographique sur papier avant la séparation d'un mélange de sels par extraction par le TBP.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung DieR R Werte von 27 Metallchloriden wurden unter Verwendung des Laufmittelgemisches Tributylphosphat (TBP)-Methanol (2 ∶ 1) ermittelt. TBP wird vor seiner Verwendung mit verschieden starker Salzsäure äquilibriert. Durch Wahl der geeigneten Säurekonzentration können mit Hilfe der angegebenen Abbildung zahlreiche Trennungen durchgeführt werden. Die Verteilungskoeffizienten von Eisen-, Kobalt- und Kupferchlorid zwischen einer Salzsäure bestimmter Molarität und mit gleich starker Säure äquilibriertem TBP wurden bestimmt. Ein unmittelbarer Zusammenhang zwischen dem Verteilungskoeffizienten und demR f -Wert des Metallchlorides wurde festgestellt. Vor der Trennung eines Salzgemisches durch Extraktion mit TBP ist es von Vorteil, eine papierchromatographische Analyse durchzuführen.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Es wird eine verbesserte Gehirnpräparation durch Verwendung einer Formalinatmosphäre beschrieben. Die Excision der Gehirnzentren wird mit Glas- oder Platingeräten durchgeführt, um Fremdioneneinschleppung hintanzuhalten. Auf einem Platinnetzchen mit Kapillardrähten erfolgt der Aufschluß und das Auftragen der mineralisierten Probe auf das Chromatographie-Papier. In einigen Thalamusproben gelang der eindeutige tüpfelanalytische Nachweis von Silber. Die Elemente Eisen und Kupfer wurden polarographisch bestimmt; die erhaltenen sehr unterschiedlichen Werte weisen auf spezielle Funktionen dieser Ionen hin. Vermutlich üben Spurenelemente eine spezifische Kationenwirkung in Spezialzellen aus. Mit Hilfe der beschriebenen Methodik können Fragen der Topochemie der Kationen des Gehirnes geklärt werden.
