Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung 15 Patienten, bei denen wirM. kansasii gezüchtet hatten, werden in 4 Gruppen eingeteilt.
Notes: Abstract Investigations on some biologic properties of clinically significant and apparently clinically non-significant strains ofMycobacterium kansasii. 15 patients, from whichM. kansasii has been isolated, are divided into 4 groups. In the 4 patients of group A,M. kansasii was clinically significant, and in a fifth patient possibly significant (group B). From the patients of group C,M. tuberculosis has been isolated 1–10 times andM. kansasii once. The patients of group D had no tuberculosis and one of them was a healthy person. The catalase activity of the strains ofM. kansasii of these patients has been investigated. In the strains of patients of groups A and B a higher catalase activity was generally observed. The sensibility tests for tuberculostatic drugs showed some difference for INH and Conteben. Guinea pigs were infected intramuscularly and intracutaneously, rabbits intravenously, and white rats intranasally. Histologic and bacteriologic examinations did not reveal any difference between the groups.

Notes: The thermodynamics of deformation of ethylene-propylene copolymer crosslinked by dicumyl peroxide with addition of sulfur or maleic anhydride has been studied. Both the entropic (fS) and energetic (fU) components have been studied at elongations α up to 65%. It was found that the course of fU/f, where f is equilibrium stress, in dependence on α agrees with the determined difference in both chemical and physical bonds.
