Notes: Summary Effect of Streptolysin O on leukocyte migration has been examined in cases of 27 patients suffering from various dermatoses. Determination of the optimal concentration of this antigen inhibiting cell migration most effectively, has been carried out. 0.2 IU/ml Streptolysin O, except for two cases, markedly inhibited proliferation of leukocytes. No relation has been found between the degree of migration inhibition, that is the degree of cellular immunity, and antistreptolysin titre.

Description / Table of Contents: A critical discussion of the recommended methods for compatibility determinations in polymer mixtures by viscosimetry measurements shows, that in the case of the systems PVC/PVAc/cyclohexanone the best results are obtained by comparison of the parameters of interaction. In this case it is possible to estimate the optimal rapport of mixture. Extending the thermodynamic methods to polymer/polymer/solvent systems, it can be shown, that the systems studied here are characterized by far-reaching interactions, indicating an interaction of the functional groups of the polymer chains. This confirms our previous conclusion, that the polymers show two kinds of compatibility, that is, true compatibility of the macromoleculare chains and pseudo-compatibility due to the interactions of the functional groups.

Notes: During methane oxidation initiated by nitric acid or nitrogen dioxide, it is possible to observe, under certain conditions of temperature, initiator content, and flow rates, the formation of an adiabatic “temperature peak.” Because the maximum temperature of the peak does not exceed the initial temperature of the reactor by more than 220°C, the recorded temperature-increase curves were used for a kinetic interpretation. The obtained kinetic parameters (overall n and E) agree with the values reported in the literature for isothermal methane oxidation and suggest that the overall mechanism does not change in the conditions of “temperature peak.”
