    Beschreibung / Inhaltsverzeichnis: Zusammenfassung Aus der potenitometrischen Titration der Titelverbindungen mit NaOH in 75 (v/v) Dioxan—Wasser bei, 20, 30 und 40°C bei konstanter Ionenstärke (μ=0,1M-NaClO4) wurden die thermodynamischen Dissoziationskonstanten ermittelt. Verdünnungs-, Lösungsmittel-und Temperatureffekte wurden berücksichtigt. Die unterschiedlichen Dissoziationskonstanten werden mit der Nichtplanarität des Phenylrings in den Liganden erklärt. Außerdem wurden die Komplexbildungskonstanten bestimmt; sie sind in die Diskussion miteinbezogen.
    Notizen: Abstract The rawpH-data, obtained from the potentiometric titrations of the titled ligands with NaOH in 75% (v/v) dioxane-water mixture performed at 20, 30 and 40°C at constant ionic strength (μ=0.1M-NaClO4), have been adequately corrected for dilution, and solvent effects in order to evaluate thermodynamic dissociation constants. Variance of the latter as a function of temperature has also been accounted for. The differing magnitudes of thermodynamic dissociation constants of the titled ligands have been explained on the basis of the non coplanar orientation of the phenyl ring in the ligands and a comparison has been made with those of unsubstituted benzoylacetone, dibenzoylmethane and acetylacetone. Following similar technique, thermodynamic stepwise and overall formation constants of the titled metal-ligand systems have been obtained and the results correlated with ligand basicity inverse metal crystal radii and second potentials of metals. Decrease in the free enthalpy (−ΔG) of complexation reaction has also been evaluated.

    Notizen: Summary A procedure for determining the peak tubewell capacity required for irrigation of rice grown under shallow water submergence has been developed. The formula takes care of both the effective rainfall and the available canal water supply, and is based on dividing the planting period into small sub-periods. The area to be planted in each sub-period is decided by the decision rules which are formulated outside the model. The model is tested for the area served by a lateral canal in the Western Jamuna Canal Command. The suggested planting schedule results in reducing the peak tubewell capacity requirement by about 25% over the existing capacity requirement. The cost of irrigation is reduced as a result of efficient utilization of the installed tubewell capacity.

    Notizen: Abstract The solid state processing of a high density polyethylene by hydrostatic extrusion at room temperature has been investigated. The extrusion pressure for a given extrusion ratio is found to depend on the pressure fluid used, the die angle and the velocity of extrusion. The strain hardening behaviour of the resulting extrudates is found to be independent of the extrusion ratio. An effective flow stress equation which accounts for the dependence of the flow stress of high density polyethylene on strain, strain rate and hydrostatic pressure is developed and used in an analysis of the extrusion process based on the upper bound approach. The calculated values of the extrusion pressure as a function of the various extrusion variables are in reasonable agreement with the experimental results.
