    Description / Table of Contents: Using the managers(IV)-method methyl methacrylate was grafted onto potato starch and dextran as well as 1-acryloyl-3-methylpyrazole and 1-methacryloyl-3,5-dimethyl-pyrazole onto potato starch. The graft copolymerization of potato starch with methyl methacrylate was investigated with respect to the influences of the acid concentration, the solvent composition, the presence of permanganate, and the gelatinization of starch.
    Notes: Nach der Mangan(IV)-Methode wurden Methylmethacrylat auf Kartoffelsärke und Dextran sowie 1-Acryloyl-3-methyl-pyrazol und 1-Methacryloyl-3,5-dimethyl-pyrazol auf Kartoffelstärke gepfropft. Für die Pfropcopolymerisation von Kartoffelstärke mit Methylmethacrylat wurde der Einfluß der Säurekonzentration, der Lösungsmittelzu sammensetzung, der Anwesenheit von Permanganat und der Gelatinierung der Stärke untersucht.

    Description / Table of Contents: For large spherical particles the scattering at small angels can be described by approximative formulas of the geometrical optics. The values for the scattering intensity calculated by means of this formulas are compared with those of the exact Mie theory. The use of the approximation is of particular importance for the interpretation of light scattering curves in the range of Mie scattering and for numerical calculations of the Mie scattering intensity.
    Notes: Für große kugelförmige Teilchen läßt sich die Streuung bei kleinen Winkeln durch Näherungsformeln der geometrischen Optik beschreiben. Die mit Hilfe dieser Formeln berechneten Werte für die Streuintensität werden mit denen der exakten Mie-Theorie verglichen. Von besondere Bedeutung ist die Verwendung der Näherung für die Auswertung von Streulichtkurven im Bereich der Mie-Strerung und der numerischen Berechnung der Streuintensität nach Mie.

    Description / Table of Contents: Grafting of mixtures of styrene with acrylonitrile or methyl methacrylate on chlorinated atactic polypropylene and grafting of methyl methacrylate on poly(vinyl trichloroacetate) are initiated by titanium(III) chloride. The influence of the structure of the backbone chain, the solvent and titanium(III) chloride concentration is investigated.
    Notes: Die Pfropfung von Styren/Acrylnitril- und Styren/Methylmethacrylat-Mischungen auf chloriertes ataktisches Polypropylen sowie die Pfropfung von Methylmethacrylat auf Polyvinyltrichloracetat lassen sich mit Titan(III)-chlorid initiieren. Es wird der Einfluß der Struktur der Rückgratkette, des Lösungsmittels und der Titan(III)-chlorid-Konzen-tration untersucht.

    Description / Table of Contents: N-hydroxymethyl-chloroacetamide, which is biocide effective, was converted to N-(acyloxymethyl)-chloroacetamides by esterification. Copolymers containing the biocide moiety as a pendant group can be obtained by radical copolymerization of methyl N-(chloroacetamido-methyl)fumarate with vinyl acetate as well as of N-(chloroacetamidomethyl)-acrylamide and the corresponding methacrylamide with styrene, methyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate and acrylic acid. The copolymerization parameters were determined.
    Notes: Das biozid wirksame N-Hydroxymethyl-chloracetamid wurde durch Veresterung in N-(Acyloxymethyl)-chloracetamid überführt. Durch radikalische Copolymerisation von Fumarsäure-methylester-chloracetamidomethyl-ester mit Vinylacetat sowie von N-(Chloracetamidomethyl)-acryl- und methacrylamid mit Styren, Acrylsäuremethylester, Methacrylsäuremethylester und Acrylsäure lassen sich Copolymere mit bioziden Wirkstoffseitengruppen erhalten. Die Copolymerisationsparameter wurden ermittelt.
