Résumé Description d'une méthode d'enregistrement, durant l'opération, des potentiels d'action des nerfs moteurs efférents (PANM), évoqués par stimulation directe, transcrânienne, de l'aire motrice, au niveau des racines ou des nerfs périphériques. Les enregistrements du PANM au niveau de la racine montrent si la fonction de la racine antérieure est intacte et si sa continuité est conservée. Lorsque l'enregistrement est pratiqué au niveau du segment proximal d'un nerf sectionné au poignet, les fibres motrices peuvent être identifiées, ce qui facilite la réalisation de la suture nerveuse.

Summary A method is described which records efferent motor nerve action potentials (MNAPs), evoked by trans-skull motor area stimulation, directly from a nerve root or peripheral nerve fibres during operation. The records of MNAPs from the root show whether function of the anterior root is intact and its continuity retained. When recorded from the proximal stump of a divided nerve at the wrist the motor funiculus can be identified, enabling funicular nerve suture to be carried out more easily.
