Contributions to the Chemistry of Boron, 211[1]. - On the Formation of Boron-Germanium Bonds with Dimethylgermylene2-(Dimethylgermyl)-1,3,2-benzodioxaborole (3) is formed by insertion of dimethylgermylene into the BH bond of catechol borane (2). According to the same principle, the trigermylborane 5 is obtained by insertion of three Me2Ge units into the BCl bond of chloro(2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidino)borane (4). Me2Ge reacts with 9-fluorenylidene(tetramethylpiperidino)-borane 8 to yield the trigermaborolane 10, which is characterized by an X-ray structure analysis.
