Magnesium oxide-supported polytitazane-platinum complex has been found to catalyze the oxygenation of diphenyl methanol with high yield and high selectivity at 140°C and 1 atm O2. The N/Pt molar ratio, temperature and solvent had great influence on the activity of the catalyst.
