Notes: Huntington's disease (HD) is an autosomal dominant neurodegenerative disease caused by a CAG trinucleotide expansion in exon 1 of the Huntingtin (Htt) gene. We show herein that in an HD transgenic mouse model (R6/2), daily administration of CGS21680 (CGS), an A2A adenosine receptor (A2A-R)-selective agonist, delayed the progressive deterioration of motor performance and prevented a reduction in brain weight. 3D-µMRI analysis revealed that CGS reversed the enlarged ventricle-to-brain ratio of R6/2 mice, with particular improvements in the left and right ventricles. 1H-MRS showed that CGS significantly reduced the increased choline levels in the striatum. Immunohistochemical analyses further demonstrated that CGS reduced the size of ubiquitin-positive neuronal intranuclear inclusions (NIIs) in the striatum of R6/2 mice and ameliorated mutant Htt aggregation in a striatal progenitor cell line overexpressing mutant Htt with expanded polyQ. Moreover, chronic CGS treatment normalized the elevated blood glucose levels and reduced the overactivation of a major metabolic sensor [5′AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK)] in the striatum of R6/2 mice. Since AMPK is a master switch for energy metabolism, modulation of energy dysfunction caused by the mutant Htt might contribute to the beneficial effects of CGS. Collectively, CGS is a potential drug candidate for the treatment of HD.

Notes: In this study, the meso-scale analysis are conducted by using the Disperse ParticleDynamics(DPD) analysis, and the constitutive equation model between viscosity and shear velocityare obtained by using different constrained mutual sufficient area. The macro-scale analysis areconducted by using Finite Element Method(FEM) based on the Computational FluidDynamics(CFD). The meso-scale model is smoothly coupled with in macro-scale model by using therelationships between the DPD meso-scale model and the FEM macro-scale model

Notes: In manufacturing Grid workflow, multiple tasks share a common and limited resource pool.In order to solve task scheduling in multi-process with resource constraints under MG workflow, theTask-Resource Constrained model is set up to descript the assignment relation between task andresource. The framework of the task scheduling and the scheduling policies are also presented thatcan readjust the tasks according to the priority rules and the time parameters in the process. Then wepresent a heuristic scheduling algorithm that includes multiple policies. The heuristic schedulingalgorithm will update the critical path of DAG (Direct Acyclic Graph) and the beginning time ofpost-tasks. MG Workflow engine can dynamically schedule the resources according the taskrequirement. An example is given to illustrate the method at last

The experimental results show that the existence ofundissolved ferrite can not only change the microstructure, but also increase the impact fatigue life Theimpact fatigue life elongates with increasing of amounts of undissolved ferrite The grain can be fined byusing subcritical quenching process and the area of phase boundaries can also be greatly increasedbecause of undissolved spheroidal carbide. The martensite and carbide form can also be changed byusing subcritical quenching process The stress relaxation due to the moving of dislocations inside theferrite and the promotion of strength due to occurring of plastic deformation and the enwindeddislocations are main reasons of improving the impact fatigue life. Notes: The reliability of welded pressure pipe with circumferential surface crack was calculated byusing 3-D stochastic finite element method. This method has overcome the shortcomings of conservativeresults in safety assessment with deterministic fracture mechanics method. The calculation of reliabilitywas based on 3-D elastic-plastic stochastic finite element program which was developed by ourselves. The effects of variables such as bending moment, the inner pressure on the structure reliability werediscussed. The calculation results indicate that the bending moment has great effect on the reliability ofthe welded pipe, and the inner pressure has little effect on the reliability of the welded pipe if the innerpressure is less than 10MPa. If the mean value of the inner pressure changed from 0.5MPa to 30MPa, thefailure probability will changes from 10-6 to 10-2. The bending moment also has great effect on thereliability. When the mean value of moment is changed from10000 Nm to 15000 Nm, the failureprobability of the welded pipe increases dramatically for the same inner pressure. Irrespective of thechanging of moment, the pipe has higher reliability if the inner pressure is less than 6 MPa. The methodhas put forward a new way for safety assessment of welded pipe with circumferential surface crack

Notes: Directional solidification of the undercooled melt which combines melt undercooling with conventional directional solidification is a new method of obtaining directional structure. This method is used to realize the directional solidification of the undercooled Ag70.3Cu29.7 melt. The experiment is performed in two steps: The undercooled melt is obtained by glass fluxing, and the above specimen is remelted and excited with Ga-In-Sn coolant. By this method, directional solidification dendrites of Ag70.3Cu29.7 alloy are achieved successfully. The columnar dendrites are straight and fine. The primary arm spacing is 21µm in average for a 65K undercooling, as compared to 38µm for a 32K undercooling. This confirms that higher undercooling promotes finer dendritic microstructures
