Description / Table of Contents: Summary The authors present a case of epidermoid cyst in an unusual (intrasellar) situation and with untypical symptomatology (endocrine disorder without ophthalmological manifestations). The treatment was essentially surgical, and the patient's progress has been satisfactory.

Notes: Summary The authors stress the frequency of metastases of the cervico-occipital junction unrecognized in medical literature: 30 cases have been diagnosed within four months. They report their different patterns and complications and insist on the prefractured pattern with osteolysis of the body of C-2 which can be shown only by polytomography. The authors propose that a tomographic study of the cervico-occipital junction should be systematically included in every analysis of metastatic extension of osteophilic tumors.

Notes: Abstract We describe the normal dural enhancement patterns of the sellar region and determine whether the duramater is affected by pituitary macroadenomas. Dural enhancement appeared to be usually abnormal in 20 patients with pituitary macroadenoma compared with 20 control patients, mainly at the planum sphenoidale and carotid sulcus. However dural changes are subtle and their recognition requires knowledge of the normal enhancement patterns. Dural changes, reported in a variety of inflammatory and infectious dural diseases and after surgery, are not specific and may be also seen in pituitary macroadenomas.

Notes: Summary The supra sellar extension of even small sized pituitary adenomas can be delineated with accuracy by angiotomography. This technique avoids the discomfort of pneumoencephalography in many patients. Angiotomography is also useful for the differential diagnosis of empty sellae.

Notes: Summary Cysts in cerebral tumours, as small as 1 cm in diameter, have been demonstrated by angiotomography with the sections made in the frontal plane. Two signs suggest a cystic lesion; a geometrically round, vessel-like outline in either the arterial or venous phase, resulting from a cystic cavity under pressure, and, during the parenchymatous phase, a radiolucent area having a radiological contrast identical to the non-injected hemisphere.
