Abstract In 1997 it was concluded to make an attempt to produce a 1st Health report of the Euregion Maas-Rhine (EMR). The following indicators were worked out for the years 1990 and 1995: life expectancy, mortality, mortality on AIDS, mortality on traffic accidents, infant mortality, birth weigth, incidence of tuberculosis and a comparison of the recommended vaccinations for the years 1990 and 1999. The attempt of producing this 1st Health report of the EMR should give us informations concerning the possibility to collect and to join together health data of the different parts of an Euregion and if a health report would be an acceptable base to influence health policy in the Euregion. An interpretation of the results has not been a subject of the 1st Euregional Health table.

Zusammenfassung 1997 wurde in der Euregio Maas-Rhein der Versuch gestartet,einen ersten euregionalen Gesundheitsbericht zu erstellen. Für die Jahre 1990 und 1995 wurden folgende Indikatoren bearbeitet: mittlere Lebenserwartung, Mortalitätsrate allgemein, Mortalitätsrate an AIDS, Mortalitätsrate an Verkehrsunfällen mit Kfz-Beteiligung, Kindersterblichkeit, Geburtsgewicht, Tuberkuloseinzidenz sowie für 1990 und 1999 ein Vergleich der offiziellen Impfempfehlungen. Ein euregionaler Gesundheitsbericht sollte ebenfalls Aufschluss darüber geben, inwieweit überhaupt vergleichbare Gesundheitsdaten zu ausgewählten Indikatoren im Bereich einer Euregio gesammelt und zusammengeführt werden können und ob die Erstellung von euregionalen Gesundheitsberichten als sinnvolles und notwendiges Hilfsmittel zur Planung von Gesundheitspolitiken in der Euregio anerkannt wird. Die Interpretation der Ergebnisse war nicht Aufgabe des ersten euregionalen Gesundheitsberichtes.
