Notes: Abstract In-beamγγ- andγγn-measurements have for the first time identified excited states in the 72 157 Hf85 nucleus and have established its yrast levels up to 6.5 MeV and I=(51/2). The results of parameter-free 11-particle recoupling calculations in the framework of the shell model for the configurationsπh 11 2/8 νf 7 2/3 andπh 11 2/8 νf 7 2/2 h9/2 are in excellent agreement with the observed levels up to 39/2 at 4.758 MeV. A weakly populated 52 ns 29/2+ yrast isomer at 2.876 MeV is assigned as the three-neutron configurationνf7/2h9/2i13/2.

Notes: Abstract. The neutron g 9/2 single-particle state in 57Ni has been unambiguously identified in a combined measurement of the linear polarization, angular distribution, and angular correlation of γ rays following the fusion-evaporation reaction 28Si(32S,2pn)57Ni at a beam energy of 90 MeV. The linear polarization was measured with a Euroball cluster detector and a prototype of an encapsulated six-fold segmented hexaconical Ge-detector. The spin of the 3701 keV level in 57Ni was confirmed to be I= 9/2 and its parity determined to be positive.

Notes: Abstract Lifetimes of high spin states in the threeA=89 isobars89Nb,89Mo and89Tc have been measured via the Recoil Distance Doppler Shift technique and the fusion evaporation reactions58Ni(35Cl,xnypzα) at 120 MeV beam energy. Reduced transition probabilities for about 50γ transitions were extracted. The experimental branching ratios in89Mo and reduced transition probabilities in all three isobars are compared with the predictions of the spherical shell model based on the restrictedπ(p 1/2),π(g 9/2), ν(p1/2),ν(g 9/2) configuration space with two different types of residual interaction.
