    Description / Table of Contents: Preparation and Reactions of Sodium Telluride, Na2Te - Crystal Structure of [Na(CH3OH)3]2Te2Sodium telluride, Na2Te 1, is easily obtained by reaction of sodium with hexagonal tellurium in 1,2-dimethoxy-ethane in the presence of catalytic amounts of naphthalene. Upon exposure to oxygen 1 reacts with methanol forming [Na(CH3OH)3]2Te2 2, which crystal structure was determined. Compound 1, prepared in situ, can be conveniently converted into dialkyl tellurides, R2Te (R = C2H5, i-C3H7, CH2 = CH—CH2 3).
    Notes: Natriumtellurid, Na2Te 1, läßt sich auf bequeme Art und Weise aus Natrium und hexagonalem Tellur in 1,2-Dimethoxy-ethan als Reaktionsmedium in Anwesenheit katalytischer Mengen an Naphthalin gewinnen. Bei der Einwirkung von Sauerstoff auf 1 in Gegenwart von Methanol entsteht [Na(CH3OH)3]2Te2 2, dessen Kristallstruktur ermittelt wurde. In situ gewonnenes 1 kann auf einfache Weise in Dialkyltelluride, R2Te, übergeführt werden (R = C2H5, i-C3H7, CH2 = CH—CH2 3).

    Description / Table of Contents: Tetramethyldisilane-1,2-diyl bridged Dicyclopentadienyl and Diindenyl Metal Dichlorides of the Group 4 Metals - Crystal Structure of Dicyclopentadienyl and diindenyl metal dichlorides of the type Cp′—SiMe2SiMe2—Cp′MCl2 (Cp′ = C5H4, M = Ti (1), Zr (2), Hf (3); Cp′ = C9H7, M = Zr (4), Hf (5)) were synthesized and characterized by means of their 1H, 13C, 29Si-n.m.r., MS, and IR spectra. The crystal structure of 2 was determined.
    Notes: Dicyclopentadienyl- und Diindenylmetalldichloride des Typs Cp′—Me2Si—Me2Si—Cp′MCl2(Cp′ = C5H4; M = Ti(1), Zr (2), Hf (3); Cp′ = C9H7; M = Zr (4), Hf (5)) wurden synthetisiert und mittels ihrer 1H-, 13C- und 29Si-NMR-Spektren sowie MS- und IR-Spektren charakterisiert. Die Kristallstruktur von 2 wurde ermittelt.

The reaction products with diphenylamine and carbon dioxide Cp*Nd(NPh2)2 · NHPh2 (VII) and Cp*Ce(O2CC4H6CO2) (VIII) are discribed. I-VIII were characterized by elementary analysis, i.r., 1H and 13C n.m.r., and EI-MS spectra.
    Notes: Aus Cyclopentadienyllanthaniddihalogeniden und “Magnesiumbutadien” wurden die in Ethern löslichen, äußerst reaktiven Verbindungen Cp*La(C4H6) · MgI2 · 3 THF (I), Cp*Ce(C4H6) · MgBr2 · 2 THF (II), Cp*Nd(C4H6) · MgCl2 · 2 THF (III), (1,3-(t-C4H9)2C5H3)Nd(C4H6) · MgCl2 · 2 THF (IV), CpEr(C4H6) · MgCl2 · 2 THF (V) und (1,3-(t-C4H9)2C5H3)Lu(C4H6) · MgCl2 · 2 THF (VI) erhalten. Diese reagieren mit protonenaktiven Substanzen und Mehrfachbindungen enthaltenden Molekülen. Als Reaktionsprodukte mit Diphenylamin und Kohlendioxid werden das Cp*Nd(NPh2)2 · NHPh2 (VII) und das Cp*Ce(O2CC4H6CO2) (VIII) beschrieben.     Description / Table of Contents: 2,6-Bis(methylenecyclopentadienyl)-pyridine-zirconocene and -hafnocene Dichloride; Formation and Crystal Structure of [C5H3N-2,6-(CH2—C5H4)2Zr(Cl)(OH2)[ZrCl6]]Pyridine bridged metallocene dichlorides of type C5H3N-2,6-(CH2—C5H4)2MCl2 (M = Zr (2), Hf (5)) were synthesized. The presence of N → Zr interaction favours the formation of zirconocene cations. Traces of water cause the formation of the salt-like compound [C5H3N-2,6-(CH2—C5H4)2Zr(Cl)(OH2)]2[ZrCl6] 4 from 2. The new compounds were characterized by 1H n.m.r., and mass spectroscopy. The X-ray crystal structure of 4 shows discrete cations and anions which are connected by H-bridges.
    Notes: Pyridinverbrückte Metallocendichloride des Typs C5H3N-2,6-(CH2—C5H4)2MCl2 (M = Zr (2), Hf (5)) wurden synthetisiert. Aufgrund einer N → Zr-Wechselwirkung wird die Bildung von Zirconocen-Kationen begünstigt. So entsteht bei der Einwirkung von Feuchtigkeit auf 2 die ionisch aufgebaute Verbindung [C5H3N-2,6-(CH2—C5H4)2Zr(Cl)(OH2)]2[ZrCl6] 4. Die Verbindungen wurden 1H-NMR und MS-spektroskopisch charakterisiert. Die Kristallstruktur von 4 läßt eine Verknüpfung der Kationen und Anionen über H-Brückenbindungen erkennen.

Preparation and Crystal Structure of Tetramethyltitanium TetrahydrofuranMe4Ti · 2THF 1 dissoziates partially in n-pentane. The formed Me4Ti · THF 2 could be isolated. According to X-ray structure determination the molecules of 2 have a trigonalbipyramidal shape with the THF molecule in axial position.
    Notes: Me4Ti · 2THF 1 unterliegt in n-Pentan einer partiellen Dissoziation. Das dabei entstehende Me4Ti · THF 2 konnte isoliert und die Kristallstruktur ermittelt werden. Danach liegen die Moleküle von 2 im Kristall in trigonal-bipyramidaler Form vor, mit dem THF-Molekül in axialer Position.

Samariumtrichloride reacts with 1,4-diphenyl-butadiene and lithium in tetrahydrofurane with formation of [Li(THF)4][Sm(1,4-Ph2C4H4)2] (VI). Reaction of samarium with the p-tolyl derivative in the presence of iodine gives (1,4-{p-CH3—C6H4}2C4H4)SmI · 3THF (VII).The compounds were characterized by elementary analysis, i.r., 1H- and 13C- n.m.r., and EI-MS spectra.

    Description / Table of Contents: Synthese von Alkylcyclophosphanen aus rotem Phosphor - Molekülstruktur von i-Pr4P4 mittels ElektronendiffraktionAus rotem Phosphor und Natrium wurde in Gegenwart geringer Mengen an Naphthalin in 1,2-Dimethoxyethan als Reaktionsmedium ein Natriumpolyphosphid, (NaP)X, 1 erhalten, das bei Einwirkung von Alkylhalogeniden in Abhängigkeit von der Art des Alkylrestes zu unterschiedlichen Alkylcyclophosphanen reagiert. Im einzelnen wurden erhalten Me5P5 2, Et5P5 3 (mit nicht eindeutig geklärter Konstitution), i-Pr4P4 4 und t-Bu4P4 5.Die Identifizierung von 1 erfolgte röntgenographisch, die von 2-5 mittels ihrer 1H-, 13C-, 31P-NMR- und MS-Spektren. Die Molekülstruktur von 4 wurde durch Elektronendiffraktion ermittelt.
    Notes: A polyphosphide of the type (NaP)X 1 was obtained from red phosphorus and sodium in presence of small amounts of naphthalene in 1,2-dimethoxyethane as solvent. 1 reacts with alkyl halides in dependence on the kind of alkyl group with formation of different alkylcyclophosphanes. As definite compounds Me5P5 2, Et5P5 3 (with not definite constitution), i-Pr4P4 4 and t-Bu4P4 5 could be isolated.1 was identified by X-ray diffraction, 2-5 by means of their 1H, 13C, 31P n.m.r. and mass spectra. The molecular structure of 4 was identified by electron diffraction.
