Notes: The important role of multiple fermionic families in noncommutative geometry is investigated by introducing a horizontal symmetry into the model building scheme. It is demonstrated that this can be done consistently. © 1995 American Institute of Physics.

Notes: Abstract Using the framework of Nambu's generalised mechanics, we obtain a new description of constrained Hamiltonian dynamics, involving the introduction of another degree of freedom in phase space, and the necessity of defining the action integral on a world sheet. We also discuss the problem of quantising Nambu mechanics.

Notes: Abstract We present some striking global consequences of a model quaternionic quantum field theory which is locally complex. We show how making the quaternionic structure a dynamical quantity naturally leads to the prediction of cosmic strings and nonbaryonic hot dark matter candidates.

Notes: Abstract Neutron activation analysis (NAA) have been used for the determination of major, minor, and trace elements in 20 soil samples from 5 crop fields of the Crop Research Centre, Pantnagar, India. Fast neutron activation analysis (FNAA) and cyclic neutron activation analysis (CNAA) have been used to determine the concentrations of various elements. The results for minor and trace elements are compared with the level of abundances of world soils. The present study provides the basic data of elemental concentrations in soil samples of 5 major crop fields located in one of the leading agricultural universities of India for future measurements with the objectives of efficient use of fertilizers and pesticides in accordance with the high yield.
