Notes: Summary The early stages of adenocarcinoma of the nose due to exposure to beech and oak wood dust show superficial preinvasive growth. The papillary and tubular structures of this “adenocarcinoma in situ” are identical with those of invasive adenocarcinomas. There are no indications that cuboid or squamous metaplasia precedes the development of this type of carcinoma.
