Notes: An analysis of the coherent states for the noncompact supergroup Osp(2/2N,R) is presented. In contrast to Osp(1/2N,R), both typical and atypical representations have to be considered. The measure of integration, in general, for Osp(2/2N,R) coherent states is calculated; it is then used to construct the decomposition of unity for the special case of Osp(2/2,R). It is found, however, that the typical and atypical representations of Osp(2/2,R) have to be treated separately. It is verified that the coherent states for Osp(2/2,R) are "closest to classical'' in the sense of Perelomov.

Notes: Some physically realizable positive discrete series representations of the noncompact orthosymplectic superalgebra Osp(4/2,R) are considered. The decomposition of these Osp(4/2,R) representations on reduction to Sp(2,R)×SO(4) is studied in detail, and the corresponding state vectors are explicitly constructed by acting with the generators on a general lowest weight state. Some examples are given to illustrate these results for particular single-particle spaces.

Notes: Coherent states for the harmonic oscillator representations of the noncompact supergroup Osp(1/2N,R) are introduced and the invariant integration measure is calculated by studying transformation properties of supercoset variables. The generalized Bogoliubov transformation for mixed systems of bosons and fermions is also obtained. An example for the simple harmonic oscillator is given.

Notes: Bush beans, kale and soybeans were used as models for studying the effects of processing by canning and freezing upon 51Cr and 65Zn content. Plants were grown hydroponically, intrinsically labeled with 51Cr and 65Zn, and processed either by canning or freezing. Freezing resulted in 65Zn losses of 10.7% for kale, 8.6% for bush beans, and 6.7% for soybeans. A loss of 3.8% of 51Cr resulted during freezing of bush beans. Canning resulted in 65Zn losses of 23% for kale, 19.7% for bush beans, and 28.8% for soybeans. Canned bush beans and kale contained 40.7% and 62.7% respectively, less 51Cr than unprocessed samples. Freezing resulted in a greater mineral retention than canning. Less opportunity for leaching is available in freezing and reduction in radionuclide content of the vegetables by canning was accounted for by transfer to the drained liquid.

Notes: 1. The interactions between five α-adrenoceptor blocking agents and clonidine have been studied in rats, rabbits and dogs after intracisternal injections.2. Dibozane, ethomoxane, azapetine, dibenamine and thymoxamine reduced blood pressure in rats and an antagonism of the hypotensive effects of clonidine was detected for the first four drugs.3. In rabbits, azapetine, dibenamine, dibozane and ethomoxane were hypotensive while thymoxamine had no effect on blood pressure. Dibozane and dibenamine reduced the hypotensive effect of clonidine.4. In dogs, azapetine, dibozane and ethomoxane reduced blood pressure, while dibenamine induced an increase in blood pressure and thymoxamine was without effect. Only dibenamine antagonized the blood pressure lowering effect of clonidine. A definite conclusion could not be drawn with azapetine due to its long duration of action in both rabbits and dogs.5. These results suggest that the central receptors involved in the hypotensive effect of clonidine differ from many other central receptors and vary according to the animal species. In addition the a-adrenoceptor blocking agents appear not to have a unique site and mechanism of action on central cardiovascular control.

Notes: Summary Report of the case of a 12-year-old boy who had died due to massive basal subarachnoid hemorrhage after moderate fight with a class mate. Findings at autopsy and by microscopic examination indicated that a lesion in the system of the great vein of Galen and the internal cerebral veins might have been the source of the bleeding. The nature of an underlying pre-existing vascular change favoring a rupture is discussed on the basis of the clinical history and the pathoanatomic findings.

Notes: Summary This is a case report of a young policeman who collapsed in the course of a football game. He died seven days later due to a massive intraventricular hemorrhage that resulted in internal hematocephalus. The source of the bleeding was obviously a bilateral angioma of the choroid plexus of the lateral ventricles.

Notes: Abstract Histochemical investigations were carried out in a series of toluidine blue preparations of pH 3.8–5.2 of unfixed frozen corneal sections of lamellar keratoplasties in rabbit eyes to show alterations in the pattern of acid mucopolysaccharides during wound healing. The metachromasia in lamellar auto- and homokeratoplasties is mainly reduced in the region of the vertical hostgraft junction. When using virgin silk the zone of reduced metachromasia in the vertical junction is broader compared with a 9/0-Nylon suture. The metachromasia of the lamellar transplant becomes normal in autokeratoplasties (Table 1) after a fortnight and in homokeratoplasties after 3 weeks; otherwise the metachromasia during the wound healing shows no significant difference in auto- and homokeratoplasties. The normal pattern of mucopolysaccharides in the corneal stroma does not return in the vertical host-graft junction, but this scar becomes smaller over a period of time (Fig. 3, 4, 5). There are no significant alterations of metachromasia found in the horizontal host-graft junction during wound healing between 1 day and 6 months, but starting from the 7th day after the lamellar keratoplasty using PAS-stain a small more PAS-intensive coloured line in the horizontal host-graft junction which is still there 6 months after the operation (Fig. 1, 2). When the 9/0 Nylon suture remains for 3 months, corneal vascularisation develops predominantly in the horizontal junction between host and lamellar graft. The graft becomes cloudy and the metachromasia remains reduced as long as 9 months after the suture has been removed (Table 2).
