Zusammenfassung Steriliaation. Hitzelabile Utensilien sind möglichst als sterilisierte Einweggeräte zu verwenden. Entlüftung nach Äthylenoxidsterilisation: PVC, unbekannte Kunststoffe: 7 Tage; Gummi: 5 Tage; Polyäthylen-, -propylen: 24 Std. -Gereinigte Geräte mit Schutzschicht (z. B. Herzschrittmacher) sind auch mit „Alhydex®” sterilisierbar. -Desinfektion: s. „IV. Liste” der DGHM-„Quats” sind unwirksam gegen gramnegative („Naß-”)Keime. Laufende biologische Kontrolle aller Maßnahmen ist notwendig. Einsatz von Krankenhaushygienikern mit Arbeitsstab zur Beratung in allen Fragen der Hospitalismus-Bekämpfung wird empfohlen.

Summary Sterilization: thermolabile instruments should be used as sterile disposable articles. Articles should be ventilated for the following periods after sterilization with ethylenoxide: PVC and unknown synthetic materials: 7 days, rubber articles: 5 days, polyethylene/ polypropylene: 24 hrs. Apparatus with a protective layer can also be sterilized with Alhydex® after cleaning. Disinfection: see “IV. Liste der DGHM”. “Quats” are not effective against gram-negative bacteria growing on wet surroundings. Continuous biological monitoring of all measures is necessary. The employment of hospital hygienists to advise on all problems of hospital infection is recommended.
