The tetrathiometallates Me2IWS4 (and Me2IMoS4) with MeI = NH4, K, Rb, Cs, Tl were prepared. These compounds were investigated by chemical, X-Ray, IR, and UV methods. With the exception of the cubic Tl compounds, the tetrathiotungstates (and tetrathiomolyb-dates) crystallize in the orthorhombic ß-K2SO4 type. For these compounds the “Struktur-chemische Volumenregel” is valid.The instable tungsten disulphide-bis(hydrogensulphide), S2W(SH)2 - in aqueous solution: tetrathiotungstic acid - has been prepared by interaction between (NH4)2WS4 and HCl in dimethylether at -78°C. The properties of S2W(SH)2 were described.The preparations of the more instable compounds S2Mo(SH)2 and SV(SH)3 were described.

Die Tetrathiometallate Me2IWS4 (und Me2IMoS4) mit MeI = NH4, K, Rb, Cs, Tl wurden hergestellt und mit Hilfe chemischer, röntgenographischer, IR- und UV-spektroskopischer Methoden näher untersucht. Mit Ausnahme der kubischen Tl-Verbindungen kristallisieren die Tetrathiowolframate (und Tetrathiomolybdate) im rhombischen β-K2SO4-Typ. Für diese Verbindungen ist die strukturchemische Volumenregel gut erfüllt.Durch Umsetzung von Suspensionen von (NH4)2WS4 in Dimethyläther mit Lösungen von HCl in Dimethyläther bei -78°C konnte das instabile, dimethylätherhaltige Wolfram-disulfid-bis(hydrogensulfid) S2W(SH)2 (in wäßriger Lösung: Tetrathiowolframsäure) hergestellt werden. Die Eigenschaften des S2W(SH)2 werden mitgeteilt.Über Versuche zur Herstellung von S2Mo(SH)2 und SV(SH)3 wird berichtet.
