    Description / Table of Contents: Attempts to prepare 9,9-dimethyl-9-sila-10(9H)-anthracenone (4a) from dimethylphenyl-2-tolylsilane (5) or 2-bromobenzoic acid as starting compounds via 2-(dimethylphenylsilyl)benzoyl chloride (11a) by condensation with tin tetrachloride resulted in high yields of the title compound 14a. Determination of its structure was only possible by X-ray analysis, determination of the course of the reaction by variation with 2-[(4-chlorophenyl)dimethylsilyl]-benzoyl chloride (11b) and mass spectroscopical investigation of the resulting isomeric mixture of bis[(chlorobenzoyl)phenyl]tetramethyldisiloxanes 14b,b′,b′.
    Notes: Versuche, von Dimethylphenyl-2-tolylsilan (5) oder 2-Brombenzoesäure ausgehend über 2-(Dimethylphenylsilyl)benzoylchlorid (11a) mit Zinntetrachlorid als Ringschlußkatalysator zu 9,9-Dimethyl-9-sila-10(9H)-anthracenon (4a) zu gelangen, führten stets in hohen Ausbeuten zur Titelverbindung 14a, deren Konstitutionsaufklärung erst durch Röntgenstrukturanalyse gelang. Der Reaktionsweg konnte durch Variation mit 2-[(4-Chlorphenyl)dimethylsilyl]benzoylchlorid (11b) und massenspektrometrische Aufklärung des dabei entstehenden Isomerengemisches von Bis[(chlorbenzoyl)phenyl]tetramethyldisiloxanen 14b, b′, b′ sichergestellt werden.

    Description / Table of Contents: Sila-Perfumes and Isosteric Compounds of Perfumes, 91). - Sila-β-ionone and Related CompoundsSynthesis of sila-β-cyclocitral 5, sila-β-ionone 7, of an rac-isomer 10 and of a dehydro compound 13 of sila-β-ionone was achieved. The preparations of the sila-β-cyclogeranium acid (6) and of the rac-sila-β-ionol (14) are also described. Comparison of the physical data and odors of the natural perfumes and their sila derivatives is given.
    Notes: Sila-β-Cyclocitral (5), Sila-β-Jonon (7), ein rac-Isomeres 10 und ein Dehydroderivat 13 des Sila-β-Jonons konnten dargestellt werden. Darüber hinaus gelang die Synthese der Sila-β-Cyclogeraniumsäure (6) und des rac-Sila-β-Jonols (14). Physikalische Daten und Gerüche der natürlichen Duftstoffe und ihrer Sila-Derivate werden verglichen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Sila-Pharmaca, 381,2). - Structure and Pharmacological Effectiveness of Sila-Substituted Analogues of the Psychopharmacological Agent Dimetacrine9,9-Dimethyl-9-silaacridans 8 with varied N-propyl side chains as well as their hydrochlorides and quaternary ammonium derivatives 9 were characterized by 1H-NMR and mass spectroscopy (signal groups, patterns) and tentatively investigated in their psychopharmacological effectiveness. No noticeable influence on the pharmacological specifity seems to be effected by the difference of the dihedral angle (from X-ray analysis) in the C- (here 148.2°) and Si- (here 154.0°) analogous acridans with N-(3-piperidino-propyl)side chain (1b and 8d). Acridans and silaacridans behave like thymoleptica, in contrast to the theories of Stach/Pöldinger and Wilhelm/Kuhn who predicted neuroleptical effects in tricyclic systems with dihedral angles 〉 140°.
    Notes: 9,9-Dimethyl-9-silaacridane 8 mit variierter 3-Aminopropyl-Seitenkette sowie ihre Hydrochloride und quartären Ammoniumderivate 9 wurden 1H-NMR- und massenspektroskopisch auf ihre Signalgruppen bzw. Abbaumuster hin charakterisiert und in ihrer psychopharmakologischen Wirkung orientierend getestet. Der röntgenographisch erkennbare unterschiedliche Diederwinkel der C- (hier 148.2°) und Si- (hier 154.0°) analogen Acridane mit N-(3-Piperidinopropyl)-Seitenkette (1b und 8d) scheint keinen merklichen Einfluß auf eine spezifische pharmakologische Wirkung auszuüben. Im Hinblick auf ihre Diederwinkel widersprechen die überwiegend thymoleptisch wirkenden Acridane und Silaacridane den Theorien von Stach/Pöldinger und Wilhelm/Kuhn, nach denen bei Winkeln 〉 140° Neuroleptika hätten erwartet werden müssen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Sila-Perfumes and Isosteric Compounds of Perfumes, 8. - α-Formylpropenylsilanes: Model Substances for Sila-β-cyclocitral3-Methyl-2-trialkyl-2-butenals (“α-formylpropenylsilanes”) 6 were prepared with yields of about 50% in two ways: 1) transformation of 1-bromo-2-methyl-1-trialkylsilyl-propenes 1 into the Grignard compounds and reaction with 2-[(formyl)(methyl)amino]pyridine, 2) transformation of 1 into 1-(1,3-dithian-2-yl) derivatives 2 and following hydrolysis in the presence of HgCl2/CdCO3. By-products are (1,3-dithian-2-yl)silanes 3, 2-methyl-3-trimethylsilyl-2-pentene (4), and 2,5-dimethyl-3,4-bis(trimethylsilyl)-2,4-hexadiene (5). Compounds 6a, b are structurally related to sila-β-cyclocitral but differ in their fragrance distinctly from it and can clearly be differentiated from each other.
    Notes: 1-Brom-2-methyl-1-trialkylsilyl-propene 1 reagieren sowohl nach Grignardierung mit 2-[(Formyl)-(methyl)amino]pyridin als auch nach Überführung in 1-(1,3-Dithian-2-yl)-Derivate 2 und deren Hydrolyse in Gegenwart von HgCl2/CdCO3 mit Ausbeuten um 50% zu 3-Methyl-2-trialkylsilyl-2-butenalen („α-Formylpropenylsilanen“) 6. Als Nebenprodukte fallen dabei (1,3-Dithian-2-yl)-silane 3, 2-Methyl-3-trimethylsilyl-2-penten (4) und 2,5-Dimethyl-3,4-bis(trimethylsilyl)-2,4-hexadien (5) an. Die Trialkylsilylbutenale 6a, b, die strukturell dem Sila-β-Cyclocitral sehr ähnlich sind, unterscheiden sich in ihren Geruchsnoten deutlich von diesem, aber auch merklich untereinander.
