Notes:
Summary In 83 patients, intraligament osteotomy of the tibia head was performed for instability due to a relatively elongated collateral ligament. In 17 patients the instability developed after fracture of the tibia plateau. To achieve good results, precisely the type of instability must be analyzed preoperatively. The collateral ligament must be intact and only relatively elongated. A Posttraumatic deviation of the axis of the knee joint can be corrected simultaneously. Of the 72 patients reviewed, physiological stability of the collateral ligament was achieved in 56 patients; 64 patients showed free movement of the knee joint.
