Abstract The two-dimensional flow of an incompressible, viscous electrically conducting fluid through a porous medium bounded by an infinite porous plate and subject to a uniform external magnetic field is treated. The mean velocity, the fluctuating parts of the velocity, the transient velocity, the amplitude and the phase of the skin friction, and the wall temperature are shown graphically and followed by discussions.
