Notes: Abstract Atomic numbers and masses have been identified for the fragments 10≦Z≦18 and 20≦A≦45 produced in the reaction40Ar(263MeV)+238U. Four new neutron-rich nuclides,37Si,40P,41–42S have been observed as a result of deep inelastic collisions. The nuclide identification combined two independant time of flight measurements as well as two (Δ E×E) informations and was quite unambiguous.

Notes: Abstract The level scheme of91Tc has been studied by means of in-beamγ-ray spectroscopy in the irradiations of58Ni and54Fe targets by40Ca beams from the Munich MP tandem and the heavy ion post accelerator. A large number of positive as well as of negative parity yrast-levels with excitation energies up to 8 MeV has been established. The level scheme of91Tc has been compared with shell model claculations and a good agreement for all identified levels has been found. In parallel investigations of the residual activities of the reaction40Ca→54Fe, theβ decay of the (9/2+ ground) state of91Ru has been investigated. Aβ decay scheme of91Ru(9/2+) has been established. The half-life of91Ru(9/2+) has been measured to be 9±1 s.

Notes: Abstract The level scheme of78Kr has been studied with the techniques of γ ray spectroscopy: decay spectra of78Rb produced by the reactions64Zn(16O,pn) and65Cu(16O,3n) have been measured; in-beam γγ coincidences have been taken during the irradiation of64Zn with16O ions; and an angular distribution measurement of γ rays from the reaction64Ni(16O, 2n)78Kr has been performed. Fifteen excited states in78Kr have been observed and spins have been proposed for most of these levels. A78Rb decay with a half-life of 17.5 ± 2 min has been found in addition to the previously known 6.0 ±0.2 min decay.

    Notes: Abstract In-beamγ ray spectroscopy withγ singles spectra,γγ coincidences andγ ray angular distributions has been performed with several target-projectile combinations:natCa +32S,natCa +40Ca,54Fe +14N,58Ni +12C,58Ni +14N,66Zn +16O,68Zn +16O. Level schemes of66Ge,68Ge,69As,70Se,74Kr,80Sr and82Sr have been deduced. The following level energies and spin-parity assignments have been found:66Ge: 957.4 keV, 2+; 1693.7; 2174.7, (4+); 3685.7; 4207.5;68Ge: 1015.8, 2+; 1777.9, 2+; 2267.9, 4+; 2428.8, 3(+); 2649.1, 3−; 3582.3, (5−); 3649.3, (5−); 3696.2, (6+); 3883.3, (6−); 4054.4, (7−); 4454.6; 4837.3;69As: 98.2; 164.6;789.6;863.2; 1306;2160;2210.4;2831.5;3258.3;3263.5;3991.1;5195.7;70Se: 945.4, 2+; 1600.9; 2039.4, (4+);74Kr: 455.7, 2+; 1013.5, (4+); 1781.5;80Sr: 385.4, 2+; 980.2, (4+); 1763.2, (6+);82Sr: 573.4, 2+; 1328.5,(4+); 2229.6,(6+). γ ray activity spectra have been measured after the bombardment of natural Ca with32S. The half-life of the new isotope69Se has been found to be 27±3 sec. Recoil distance Doppler-shift measurements have been performed with the reactions62,64Ni,66zn(16O, 2n)76, 78 Kr,80Sr. The following half-lives have been determined:76Kr: 423.8 keV, 2+, 37±5 psec; 1034.2,4+, 5.7±1.6;78Kr: 455.3, 2+, 25±3; 1120.0, 4+, 3.8±1;80Sr: 385.4, 2+, 44±6. The energy and half-life systematics of the first excited state of even-even nuclei suggest a maximum of nuclear deformation in the region 28≦N, Z≦50 near 38 76 Sr38 or 40 78 Zr38.

Notes: Abstract Postaccelerated58Ni and60Ni beams from the Munich MP tandem have been used to study the compound reactions58Ni→93Nb,92Mo,94Mo and60Ni→92Mo. The final nuclei148Er,150Er and147Ho have been investigated with in-beamγ-spectroscopic methods, such as excitation functions,γγ coincidences, bunched-beam and pulsed-beam techniques. Level schemes of148Er,150Er and147Ho have been established with the following level energies, spins, parities and half-lives:148Er: 646.6 keV 2+; 1,524.0(4+); 2,254.3(5−); 2,526.9(6+); 2,537.3(7−), 2,706.0(7−, 8−); 2,784.4(8+); 2,915.5(10+) 13±3 μs150Er: 1,578.9 keV 2+; 1,786.4 3−; 2,261.2(5−); 2,634.1(7−); 2,734.3(8+); 2,798.3(10+) 2.7±0.2 us; 4,001.9; 4,491.8; 4,886.0; 5,222.7147Ho: 765.4; 1,737.2; 2,355; 2,656.6 The level scheme of150Er has been discussed in the framework of the seniority scheme. Perfect agreement with the experiment has been found for the predictions of this scheme for the half-lives of 10+ states inN=82 isotones. This is the first nuclear region where the predictions of the seniority scheme have been observed without strong perturbation.

Notes: Abstract Very neutron-deficient isotopes of rhodium, palladium, silver, cadmium and indium in theN=50 region were studied at the GSI on-line mass separator following bombardment of58, 60, 62Ni and63, 65Cu targets with 4.0 MeV/u ions of40Ca. The known properties of the β-delayed proton precursor95m Pd were confirmed, but a search for direct proton decay of95m Ag was not successful. Beta-delayed proton activities observed at mass-numbers 94, 96, 97 and 100 were assigned to the precursors94Rh(66±14 s),96Ag(5.1±0.4s),97Cd(3 −2 +4 s) and100In. In addition,94Pd(9.0±0.5 s) was identified from β-γ-X studies. Individual decay schemes of95m96Pd and96, 98Ag are reported.
