    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Bei 18 gesunden Versuchspersonen wurde die Aktivität des Angiotensin-I-converting-enzyme (ACE) im Plasma vor und nach Hemmung der Prostaglandinsynthese durch Indomethacin gemessen. Die ACE-Aktivität blieb durch die Behandlung unbeeinflußt. Es wird geschlossen, daß das Renin selbst wahrscheinlich die einzige Komponente des Renin-Angiotensin-Systems darstellt, die Beziehungen zu Prostaglandinen aufweist.
    Notes: Summary In 18 normal human volunteers plasma angiotensin-I-converting-enzyme (ACE) activity was measured before and after inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis by indomethacin. ACE activity did not change significantly after treatment. It is concluded that renin is probably the only component of the renin angiotensin system, which is influenced by prostaglandins.

    Notes: Abstract A saturation-spectroscopy experiment is performed in a three-level system in Xe I, and shows that a narrow dip occurs in the power-broadened Lorentzian response. It is due to the Zeeman splitting of common level by the earth magnetic field. Other splittings, typically larger than 0.2 the natural width, can be observed using this saturation effect. Interpretation is made on the basis of simple realistic assumptions.

    Notes: Abstract A high-efficiency collection device for sex pheromones volatized from forcibly extruded female glands is described. Filtered nitrogen gas is the carrier and glass wool the adsorbent. Small quantities of distilled carbon disulfide are used to rinse the glass wool. Recovery efficiency of synthetic compounds was usually 90–100%, and a mean of 2.4 ± 0.65 SD ng/min of (Z)-7-dodecenyl acetate was recovered in emissions from individualTrichoplusia ni (Hubner) glands.
