Directed Synthesis of Sulfinato-O and -S Complexes of some Transition Metals, IX. Sulfinato Complexes of Cadmium (II) with Mono-and Bidentate Nitrogen LigandsThe hitherto unknown sixfold co-ordinated polymeric bis(organosulfinato-O,O′)bis(pyridine)-cadmium(II) complexes 2a, b are obtained according to equation (1) by reaction of pyridine with the diaquabis(organosulfinato-O,O′)cadmium(II) complexes 1a, b. Depending on the organic residue R and the solvent, 1a, b react stepwise with 2,2′-bipyridyl according to equations (2) and (3) to form the pseudooctahedrally configurated sulfinato-O,O′ complexes (RSO2)2Cdbpy [R = C6H5 (3a), p-CH3C6H4 (3b)] and the sulfinato-O complex {RS(O)O}2Cdbpy2 [R = p-CH3C6H4 (4b)]. 4b is also obtained from 3b and 2,2′-bipyridyl in water. In acetone 4b is converted reversibly into 3b with elimination of one mole of 2,2′-bipyridyl. The complexes are characterized on the basis of their i. r. spectra.

Bei der Einwirkung von Pyridin auf die Diaquabis(organosulfinato-O,O′)cadmium(II)-Komplexe 1 a, b erhält man gemäß G1. (1) die bisher unbekannten sechsfach koordinierten polymeren Bis(organosulfinato-O,O′)bis(pyridin)cadmium(II)-Komplexe 2a, b. In Abhängigkeit vom Organorest R und vom Lösungsmittel reagieren 1a, b gemäß G1. (2) und (3) stufenweise mit 2,2′-Bipyridyl, wobei die pseudooktaedrisch konfigurierten Sulfinato-O,O′-Komplexe (RSO2)2Cdbpy [R=C6H5, (3a), p-CH3C6H4 (3b)] und der Sulfinato-O-Komplex {RS(O)O}2Cdbpy2 [R = p-CH3C6H4 (4b)] entstehen, 4b erhält man auch aus 3b und 2,2′-Bipyridyl in Wasser. In Aceton geht 4b unter Abspaltung von einem mol 2,2′-Bipyridyl reversibel in 3b über. Die Komplexe werden an Hand ihrer IR-Spektren charakterisiert.
