Zusammenfassung Die ascendierende Bein-Becken-Phlebographie vor Varicen-Operation oder Sklerosierung ist ein komplikationsarmes, zuverlässiges und einfaches Verfahren zur Differenzierung zwischen primärer und sekundärer Varikose, zum Nachweis der Funktion von Taschenklappen und Perforansvenen, zur Dokumentation von Stamm- and Seitenast-Varikosen sowie von venösen Aneurysmen. Als Phleboskopic mit Zielaufnahmen orientiert sie über morphologische and funktionelle Befunde, insbesondere auch über den unbehinderten zentralen Abfluß in Beckenvenen and V. cava inferior.

Summary Ascending phlebography is a safe and reliable method for preinterventional differential diagnosis of primary and secondary venous insufficiency. With the combined use of fluoroscopy and spot filming, the technique yields functional information on the venous valves and communicating veins. It also permits exact localization of peripheral and proximal varicosis and venous aneurysms. In addition, the pelvic and inferior vena cava inflow can be evaluated.
