    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung An der Chirurgischen Universitätsklinik Erlangen wurden seit 1966 120 Aortenaneurysmen beobachtet und 95 davon operiert. Die Klinikletalität betrug 18,9 %. In einem Nachbeobachtungszeitraum von 13 Jahren verstarben weitere 21 Patienten vorwiegend an den Folgen einer coronaren Herzkrankheit, gefolgt vom Malignom. Die kumulative Überlebensrate nach 5 Jahren bei der elektiv operierten Gruppe betrug 61 %. 25 Patienten sind aus verschiedenen Gründen konservativ behandelt worden. Überlebenszeit, Aneurysmagröße und Todesursachen werden aufgezeigt.
    Notes: Summary Since 1966 one hundred and twenty abdominal aortic aneurysms were seen at the Surgical Clinic of the Erlangen University. 95 of them had to be treated operatively. The operative mortality was 18.9 %. During the follow-up period of 13 years, a further 21 patients died. The leading cause of death was coronary heart disease, malignant tumors ranked second. The 5-year survival rate was 61 % in the patients, who were operated on electively. 25 patients were treated conservatively for various reasons. Both groups are compared regarding survival rates, size of aneurysms and causes of death.
